The Ideal Candidate

We’re seeking a motivated and ambitious individual that will be responsible for tasks relating to system administration, testing, developer tooling, capacity planning, and systems architecture. This person needs to be a quick learner, be incredibly organized and communicate exceptionally well with our distributed engineering team. This position is based in Central Virginia since that is where Parse.ly has its new data center. If the thought of 128GB RAM servers, SSD drive arrays, and multi-core/multi-cpu machines gets you excited, then this is the job for you.

As an early employee you’ll be working directly with the Chief Technology Officer and your voice will have an influence and effect on all aspects of the big data processing challenges at Parse.ly.

The Specifics

Responsibilities

Administer systems and automate cloud infrastructure.
Spec and provision new dedicated hardware.
Work on custom monitoring tools
Optimize our development process.
Master cloud technologies and systems.
Learn, grow, and succeed.

Requirements

Ideally 2-3 years experience in technology, but no minimum experience required.
Self-sufficient, but works well with others.
Highly organized and disciplined.
Open source contributions and publicly scrutable code preferred.
Some background in Python and bash scripting preferred.

The Ideal Candidate

We have a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student who's looking to get involved with a venture-backed startup. Through this internship you will work directly with the CEO to give you experience with all aspects of a startup such as:

Marketing
Sales
Writing
Operations

In addition to the extensive experience, you'll also have the benefit of:

Diving deep into the NYC tech scene.
Building a network of top notch investors and notable NYC techies.
Brainstorm with the team around all aspects of the startup.
Having a voice and influencing key decisions.
Experience building a new product and understanding what's required to do it.

You'll have the potential to work part-time, paid for Parse.ly over the following year or full-time if you are graduating soon.

Job Description

Be involved with the sales cycle from start to finish.

Qualification:

Loves technology and business.
Excellent communicator and writer.
Can work out of our Herald Square office for most of the hours.
You don't need to have a high GPA, but you need to demonstrate that you're ambitious and a hard worker.

As an early employee you’ll be working directly with the CEO and Director of Sales, and your voice will have an influence and effect on all aspects of product and business at Parse.ly.
